A coastal adventure awaits
The Arc 50K is a spectacular point-to-point race that journeys from North to South along Cornwall's rugged Atlantic coastline, finishing at Perranporth Airfield. Taking in some of the most dramatic sections of the South West Coast Path, runners will experience exposed clifftops, rolling coastal trails and breathtaking ocean views throughout the route.
Designed as the perfect stepping stone into ultra-distance trail running, the Arc 50K delivers all the challenge, beauty and adventure that Arc of Attrition by UTMB is renowned for, in a more accessible format.
Runners will need the ability and experience to be self-sufficient in potentially challenging winter weather conditions and periods of darkness.
Runners will complete a point to point 25 mile course along the South West Coast Path, a National Trail and one of England's longest marked footpaths. The Arc 25 race starts near St Ives, before descending to join the trail and take runners across a variety of coves, sand dunes and terrains before arriving at Porthtowan.
Particular care needs to be taken at the following points to ensure you follow the official coast path.

There are two aid stations available at strategic locations at regular intervals along the course. These provide basic food and drink options to runners, warm shelter and toilet facilities. A selection of other snacks including cold drinks, water, cola and Näak Energy products will be available.
There will be toilet facilities (including female toilets and toilets with period products), seating and rest areas.
There is no personal assistance ('support crew') allowed during the Arc 25 competition. Therefore, only participants will be allowed access to aid stations.
The Arc of Attrition by UTMB is a semi-autonomous / self-sufficient event with aid stations and medical cover at strategic locations on the course.

However, due to the extent of the course, the likelihood of fatigue and the time of year, we strongly advise you to have someone to meet you at the finish who can drive you home after the event.
The race follows an existing waymarked route, and there will be some course waymarking. We would however recommend runners have previous trail running experience.
The route follows the undulating cliff path and cliff edges, and the terrain can be difficult, steep and arduous in places.
Depending on your pace, the later part of this race will be undertaken in the dark. You should ideally have had some experience of night time running prior to the event.
